Sign up for STRATOS Service by going to the following WEB site, just click on the link below. https://secure.stratos.ca/regforms/stratosmail/new.CFM Our Inmarsat address is: 436776110 -or- Call COMSAT CUSTOMER CARE at 1-800-685-7898 or Fax
them at 301-214-7282 and tell them you wish to subscribe to their service in
order to send Email to a Yacht with the COMSAT Email address: 436776110@C-Link.net
and they will fix it up for you.
There is no charge for opening the account and there is no monthly billing. You are only billed when you Email us via COMSAT or STRATOS. The cost is approximately US$0.01 per character including all spaces and carriage returns. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you type “noheader” in the subject line of your Email composition it will eliminate the billing for those 200 to 300 spaces and characters, which are non-essential. Every little bit helps, right? E-mail using this system comes to us direct via the
satellite and immediately lights up our “MAIL” light.. rest assured we watch
it closely!! Pretty SLICK! We do have other Email addresses, but we are only able to
access them when we are in port with a phone line aboard the boat or when we can
find a host line ashore to download our mail…. Tough life! Since it takes time to set up the account, why not do it now… and then it’ll be up and running when you feel the urge to merge with us! We are always excited to hear from you via any of our Email addresses, or even if you use the Snail Mail! Do it now........ |
